Shopify billing

Quincer Chat installed from the Shopify App Store is billed entirely through the Shopify Billing API. Plan charges, add-ons, and voice-minute bundles appear on your Shopify bill — we never charge your card directly.

How charges flow

  1. You install Quincer Chat from the Shopify App Store and approve the OAuth scope request.
  2. You land on the Quincer plan picker and choose Starter, Growth, or Scale.
  3. Shopify presents a confirmation screen with the price and a 30-day free trial. You approve from inside the Shopify Admin.
  4. Quincer activates your plan immediately and emails the shop owner a sign-in link to chat.quincer.com.
  5. From there you can configure your widget, add personas, connect integrations, etc.

Managing your subscription

Two places work, but Shopify is the source of truth:

The Billing & plan page below is what a Shopify-installed merchant sees in Quincer. The blue Billing handled by Shopify banner at the top confirms charges route to your Shopify bill. The Current plan card shows your plan name, a status badge (active or trialing), and a Manage in Shopify button that opens your Shopify Admin (the Stripe portal is hidden for Shopify orgs). Under Available plans, each card carries an Upgrade or Downgrade button — clicking one starts a fresh Shopify approval; your current plan is outlined and its button reads Current plan.

Add-ons

Add-ons (white-label, custom REST tools, email auto-send, live-handoff seats) are toggled from the Billing page in Quincer. Each toggle triggers a fresh Shopify approval to update the bundled charge on your Shopify bill — prorated to your current billing cycle.

Voice minutes

Voice usage is billed as pre-paid bundles:

You manage all of this on the Voice minutes page (Billing → Manage voice plan). The Current period card at the top shows minutes remaining and a usage bar; below it, Monthly plans lists the recurring bundles (Voice 60 / month, 180, 960) each with a Subscribe button, and One-time add-ons lists the top-ups (e.g. Voice 180 add-on) with a Buy once button. BYOK unlimited sits at the bottom. On a Shopify shop, any of those buttons opens the Shopify approval screen instead of Stripe checkout.

Free trial

Every new install gets a 30-day free trial of the plan you pick. Shopify will not bill you until the trial ends, and you can cancel any time before then with no charge.

Test charges on development stores

If your shop is a Shopify development / partner store, every charge is automatically issued as a test charge — no real money moves. The approval screen looks identical so you can rehearse the merchant flow.

Uninstalling

Uninstalling Quincer Chat from your Shopify Admin cancels every active Shopify subscription tied to the app and downgrades your Quincer workspace to Free. Your widgets stop loading on your storefront immediately. Within 48 hours, Shopify fires its shop/redact webhook and we delete the workspace's personal data per GDPR.

Need a Stripe receipt instead?

Shopify App Store policy (§1.2.1) requires every charge for a Shopify-installed merchant to flow through the Shopify Billing API, so we can't issue a Stripe invoice. Your Shopify bill is the receipt; download it from your Shopify Admin under Settings → Billing.
